The Wizard of Oz

Why see The Wizard of Oz?

We're Off To See...

Join Dorothy and Co. as they journey down the Yellow Brick Road in the search of the Wonderful Wizard of Oz in this magical production of Frank L. Baum's beloved hit, to be staged at A.C.T's Toni Rembe Theater this summer!

Based on MGM's legendary film and adapted by John Kane, expect classic songs you know and love, including 'Over the Rainbow', 'We're Off to See the Wizard' and 'Follow the Yellow Brick Road' in a glittering new staging directed by Tony nominee Sam Pinkleton.

What is the story?

After being swept away by a hurricane, Kansas farmgirl Dorothy and her trusty dog Toto find themselves in the strange land of Oz, where the roads are yellow and the cities are emerald. But all is not well in this technicolor territory, and if Dorothy and Toto stand any chance of getting home, they must dodge wicked witches and flying monkeys, among more of Oz's dangerous peculiarities. Luckily, they don't have to do it alone. With the help of three of the locals, a Tin Man, a Cowardly Lion, and a Scarecrow, Dorothy takes matters into her own hands, discovering that sometimes, home is where the heart is.

A special, fun night!

I loved the show. My partner Steve loved the show, Steve had gotten me front row seats for the night of my birthday June 10th, 2023. I wore this really cool tracksuit. And what topped this great night off was the show picking me up on stage to read and declare that the Wicked Witch was at last dead!. Steve unexpectedly died March 13th, 2024. I will always fondly remember this show & our night. Thank you! ... Read more

Wonderful

The entire cast did a tremendous job recreating childhood memories of the movie into living color. Each cast member did a phenomenal job perfecting the cadence, accent and mannerisms of the original cast members. Highly entertaining. You will have chills from the lion’s performance, but all cast members gave remarkable performances. ... Read more
