She ain't no Hack - Jean Smart returns to Broadway after 25 years!
In a move straight out of the Deborah Vance playbook, Jean Smart will return to Broadway this summer in Jamie Wax's solo show, Call Me Izzy, directed by Sarna Lapine! The six-time Emmy Winner's first Great White Way appearance in 25 years, this strictly limited engagement of the Emmy-winning Wax's dramedy concerns the secrets of a woman living alone in rural Louisiana, one of which might just be her ticket out.
Last seen on Broadway in 2000 in The Man Who Came To Dinner with Nathan Lane (in a turn that got her a Tony nom), Smart has most recently been winning over television audiences in HBO Max's excellent single-camera comedy Hacks. Her role as Deborah Vance, a comedy legend in search of a comeback, has seen her add to her already stacked trophy cabinet, with two Golden Globes, three more Emmy Awards (to add to the three she gained for Fraiser and Samatha Who?), and three Screen Actors Guild Awards. Will Call Me Izzy see another?
Don't miss this fantastic chance to see Smart head back to her theatrical roots - for twelve weeks only!
