Critic's pick
Returning off-Broadway this winter, enjoy another chance to catch Sean Daniel's autobiographical play that delves deep into a young theatre director's life and the chaos wrought by alcoholism. With Joe Tapper reprising his role as Steven, The White Chip is directed by Sheryl Kaller and is produced by Jason Biggs (Orange is the New Black), John Larroquette (Night Court), Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie), Hank Azira (The Simpsons) and Annaleigh Ashford (Sweeney Todd).
What is the story?
With his dream job within reach, a marriage, and plenty of friends, it looks like Steven has it all going for him, the only problem is that he's also an alcoholic, and its about to ruin his life. Recounting his career in drinking as it parallels his life, The White Chip is a raw yet hilarious look at the perils of the demon drink, and the hard yet rewarding road to sobriety.
