Why see Crazy Rich Asians?
Dates and Venue to be Announced
After the 2019 box office success of John M. Chu's movie adaptation of Kevin Kwan's bestselling novel of the same name, the director has confirmed that Crazy Rich Asians is now eyeing a Broadway bow! A brilliant romantic comedy that takes us into the lives of the 'Crazy Rich' families of Singapore via the relationship of New York Chinese American Professor Rachel and her boyfriend Nick (a beloved son of one of those gazillionaire families), CRA is a sumptuous romp that pits love against money, cultural differences and familial expectation - we can't wait to see how it looks on stage!
With dates and venues yet to be announced, the show's creative team will see a book by Leah Nanako Winkler, music by Helen Park and lyrics by Amanda Green and Tat Tong. While it represents Chu's first Broadway work, the director is no stranger to musicals. He's currently helming the upcoming Wicked adaptation and directed 2021's In The Heights cinematic outing.
