The flashy girl from Flushing is back!
Miss Fine might be heading to a Broadway stage soon, some twenty years after the last episode aired! That's right, Fran Drescher herself is working on a musical adaptation of the hit 90s TV show, The Nanny. Drescher is joined on the creative team by Rachel Bloom and Adam Schlesinger (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) and Marc Bruni (Beautiful).
The musical is still in development, though hopefully it isn't too long before the hilarious antics of Miss Fine find their home on The Great White Way! With great characters like Maxwell and Niles, and a ton of cultural and social references that are just as relevant today as they were then, we're just a surprised this hasn't happened sooner. We can't wait to welcome The Nanny back into our lives - and our hearts!
Thrown out by her crummy boyfriend, Fran Fine is forced to make ends meet as a door-to-door salesman. Her luck changes though when she meets wealthy (widowed!) expat Maxwell, and his three charming children. Miss Fine needs a job and a place to stay, Maxwell needs a new nanny... it's a match made in heaven! Well, aside from the massive clashes in culture, class, taste in fashion, and almost everything else...!
Book by Fran Drescher and Peter Mark Jacobson
Music by Rachel Bloom and Adam Schlesinger
Directed by Marc Bruni
