The beloved Broadway spoof is back and better than ever
The Off-Broadway musical parody to end all Off-Broadway musical parodies, Forbidden Broadway is back and its sinking its teeth into the thing that makes the Great White Way twinkle - musical theatre of course! A Big Apple institution since its inception in 1982, the beloved show closed its doors in 2005 as creator Gerard Allessandrini felt that there were no more musicals to spoof. Thanks to a spate of diverse new tuners, Alessandrini and his rib-tickling creation are back with a brand new edition - Forbidden Broadway: The Next Generation.
For 10 delightful weeks, the production fuses wit, ingenuity and sonic skill in its skewering of musicals and their greatest performers great and small, from Cher, Tina Turner and Bette Midler to the recent revival of Oklahoma and teenage rock opera Dear Evan Hansen. Sketches, gags, song-and-dance numbers and political incorrectness abound, not even Linn Manuel Miranda is safe - prepare for a great night out on the town!
