A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder

Why see A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder?

last chance to see this Tony-winning Musical!

The darling of the 2014 Tony Awards, A Gentleman's Guide earned an eye-watering 10 nominations and two high profile wins, Best Musical and Book. Richly deserved, for this unabashed celebration of theater is a wonderful black comedy whose acerbic wit and clever lyrical flourishes have rendered it a storming commercial and critical success. Ben Brantley of the New York Times called the score among, 'The most accomplished heard on Broadway in the last dozen years or so'. This is your last chance to see this production of the Broadway smash - it's closing January 17th 2016!

Charting the rise and fall of the social climbing Monty Navarro and his bizarre quest to off all that stand between him and the coveted D'Ysquith Earldom, this Edwardian caper is based on the classic Ealing studios hit Kind Hearts and Coronets, which starred Alec Guinness in the multi-character role now inhabited marvellously by scene stealing Tony nominee Jefferson Mays.

Add to this web of murder and deceit the extra complication of love rivals, the passionate and vain Sibella and the innocent and pure Phoebe, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder is an irreverent and hilarious new musical that is sure to make a wonderful evening out!

A guide to a guide...

When the low born Monty Navarro finds out that he's 8th in line for an earldom in the lofty D'Ysquith family, he figures his chances of outliving his predecessors are slight and sets off down a far more ghoulish path. Can he knock off his unsuspecting relatives without being caught and become the second Earl of Highhurst? And what of love? Because murder isn't the only thing Monty's mind...

Fun, witty, mischievous

As you walk into the extravagant Walter Kerr theatre there certainly is an air about it, double that with the even more lavish set of a stage within the stage, and the scene is set for a twist of theatrics!

A Laugh from Start to Finish

This has to be one of the most memorable shows I have seen on Broadway. The comedy is never ending and the music is wonderful. The play is over two hours long and you wish it would continue even after the curtain has gone down. A pure delight! ... Read more

Been Three times

If you love to laugh and have a good time you must see this show! Jefferson Mays is by far the best comedy actor at this time. The whole production is great and the cast is great. I've been three times and will go again next month. Can you say TONYs for the cast and Producers, I can. See you again next month. MJG ... Read more
