Becoming Dr. Ruth is a charming solo show about the world's favorite sex therapist, Dr. Ruth Westheimer and stars Debra Jo Rupp, the endearing mother from That 70s Show.
The play reveals the often incredible life events that led up to the start of her hugely successful radio show in 1980, a show which dished out sex advice to an adoring audience. Little did listener's know that there was a lot more to this four-foot, matronly therapist - Dr. Ruth grew up in Nazi Germany, fought in the Jewish underground army as a young adult, and has been married three times although she is currently single.
Written by Mark St. Germain, Becoming Dr. Ruth is a humorous and hope-filled journey through the events which helped Dr. Ruth become the remarkable women she is today.
