Based on the 1960 'b movie' of the same name Little Shop of Horrors has become a huge cultural hit across the globe. With musical numbers like "Skid Row", "Suddenly, Seymour" and "Somewhere That's Green" the comedy musical garnered the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Musical, the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical AND the Outer Circle Critics Award during its debut off-Broadway run in 1982. After heading across the pond for its debut West End run in 1983, Little Shop of Horrors finally received its Broadway premiere in 2003, where it ran at the Virginia Theatre (now the August Wilson Theatre) for 40 previews and 372 regular performances!

What Is The Little Shop Of Horrors About?

As the dejected Seymour languishes in his plant shop on the down-and-out street of Skid Row he discovers a strange and monstrously adorable new plant. Affectionately naming it "Audrey II" after his crush at the shop, Seymour is shocked to find that cute little sapling has an insatiable thirst - for human blood. Growing larger every day, it's also developed a soulful singing voice, a potty mouth, and a murderous blood lust!

As Audrey II grows bigger and bigger, and its need for blood becomes unrelenting, it promises a lifetime of fame and fortune to Seymour, as long as he continues providing a fresh supply of the red stuff. But Audrey II's intentions soon outgrow its pot, and Seymour's life is threatened, as is the real-life relationship he's been building with the evil plant's namesake...
