Tony Awards Postponed Amid COVID-19 Concerns
The 74th annual Tony Awards will not go ahead as planned
The 74th Tony Awards has been postponed, it has been announced. The ceremony, which was scheduled for June 7 at Radio City Music Hall, will not go ahead as planned due to concerns over Coronavirus.
In a statement, Tony Awards Productions said, "The health and safety of the Broadway community, artists and fans is of the utmost importance to us. We will announce new dates and additional information once Broadway opens again. We are looking forward to celebrating Broadway and our industry when it is safe to do do.
The 2020 Tony Award nominations were due to be announced on April 28 but it is now unclear if that will take place.
Last year's winners included To Kill A Mockingbird, Hadestown (Best Musical) and Ain't Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations.
