Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is Returning To Broadway

Author KevinKevin, October 25th, 2024

Yer a Broadway star, Harry!

It seems that the ten-time Tony Award-winning Harry Potter and The Cursed Child has been practicing its transfiguration skills, as the show will now play for just under three hours - good for those of us with the attention span of a teaspoon. We solemnly swear we will be booking tickets for the new version, which will debut at Broadway's Lyric Theatre on November 12, 2024!

About The New Show

The revamped version didn't sacrifice any of the spectacle when it boarded The Hogwarts Express last month to Chicago's James. M Nedelander Theatre where it will finish on February 1.

A dramatic continuation of J.K Rowling's famous wizarding world, The Cursed Child follows all three of our infamous heroes and their children, focusing on Harry's son Albus, who begins his time-traveling adventures after being sorted into Slytherin at Hogwarts.

The original 2018 production lasted over 2 hours and 30 minutes, with audiences given the choice to attend on consecutive days or experience both parts in a single day. In 2021, the New York version returned post-pandemic as a condensed 3-hour, 30-minute show.

Who Is In The Cast?

The new Broadway company will be led by Matthew James Thomas (known for his title role in the Tony Award Winning Pippin) as Harry Potter, Sarah Killough (Eva in Leopoldstadt) as Ginny Potter, and Alex Serino as their son Albus Potter.

The show also features Daniel Fredrick as Ron Weasley, Rachel Christopher as Hermione Granger, and Ayanna Nicole Thomas as their daughter Rose Granger-Weasley. Aaron Bartz and Erik Christopher Peterson will play Draco and Scorpius Malfoy. Kristen Martin will play Delphi Diggory.
