Coming to Broadway for its world premiere is Ghanaian-American writer Jocelyn Bioh's Jaja's African Hair Braiding at Broadway's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. The show is directed by the award-winning Whitney White and will star Brittany Adebumola and Marvel's Black Panther actor Dominique Thorne.
What's the story?
Set in Jaja's Harlem braiding salon, the play follows the lives of the local women as they exist in the salon and the West African immigrant braiders as they create incredible works of art with their clients hair. Love and dreams and the reality of life all come into question in this stunning show.
