After a critically acclaimed run in London last summer, Alexi Kaye Campbell's Apologia is heading stateside this fall. Leading the cast, and reprising her starring role, will be Tony and Emmy Award Winner, Stockard Channing who was last seen on Broadway in 2014.
Full of sharp wit, Apologia proved that Alexi Kaye Campbell was no 'one hit wonder'. This second play by the playwright stormed the critics when it first premiered way back in 2009 and still holds it own almost ten years later. Delving into hard to answer questions and revealing home truths, Apologia explores the relationships of one family on the brink.
Kristin is a renowned art historian and humanitarian. Not one to miss out on a protest or picket line, Kristin prides herself on her compassion and self-sacrifice to important causes. However as her birthday looms and her children return home in order to celebrate her newly released memoir, it becomes obvious that they may not mirror her view of events. As the wine begins to flow, long held tensions are released and Kristin must decide whether it was all worth it.
