Stag & Lion Theatre Company present Shakespeare's greatest tragedy
Said to be William Shakespeare's greatest tragedy, King Lear is the age-old tale of a generational power struggle in a kingdom falling apart under the weight of one royal family. A story as much about politics and power as it is about old age and family, it resonates in the times we live in, or as the beleaguered Lear calls it, this "great stage of fools".
Presented by the prestigious Stage & Lion Theatre Company, you're invited to the Trinity Theatre to hear their King Lear as a Gothic Fairytale of madness blind to love, told through generations.
"When we are born, we cry that we are come to this great stage of fools."
Director Claire Tyers known for her role on HBO's Search Party can't thank STAG & LION creator Joshua Koehn enough for making so many of her Shakespeare dreams come true!
Theatre Producer and Filmmaker Nicholas Kennedy is honored to help Stag and Lion create a shocking retelling of King Lear. "From the moment John Lichtwalt and Josh Koehn told me Claire Tyers was Directing this, I had to make sure it would have the resources to create her vision."
The entire cast would like to thank William Shakespeare & The ghosts that protect Stag and Lions Old Wooden Stage.
