Dot-Marie Jones Joins Cast of Rock of Ages

Author AbigailAbigail, February 4th, 2020

The Emmy nominee makes her off-Broadway debut!

Three-time Emmy nominee Dot-Marie Jones will join the cast of Rock of Ages this February. Jones, who starred as Coach Beiste in TV's Glee, will join the cast as Bourbon Room owner Dennis Dupree on February 24, marking the first woman to step into the role.

Jones will play a limited eight-week run which is scheduled to conclude on April 19, where current star Matt Ban will return to the role full time.

Jones will join a cast made up of Mitchell Jarvis as Lonny, CJ Eldred as Drew, Kirsten Scott as Sherrie, PJ Griffith as Stacee Jaxx, Dane Biren as Franz, Tiffany Engen as Regina, Tom Galantich as Hetz, Jeannette Bayardelle as Justice/Mother and Katie Webber as Waitress Number One.

Rock of Ages is directed by Kristin Hanggi, choreographed by Kelly Devine and features a book by Chris D'Arienzo.

What Is Rock of Ages about?

The time: 1987. The place: West Hollywood's Sunset Trip. Amidst the tussle between hedonistic thrill seekers, a fed-up city planner and developers looking to turn the spot into a clean-living, money-making area, dreams still blossom - at least in the minds of Drew Boley and Sherrie Christian. A busboy at the legendary Bourbon Room, Drew has his sights set on becoming a rock star whilst new colleague and romantic interest Sherrie dreams of being an actor.

When they learn the Bourbon room is set to be demolished, they take matters into their own hands whilst Drew embraces his inner rock god, becoming Stacee Jaxx with every flaming lick. It's dirty, it's unapologetic - it's a coming of age tale with the kind of swagger that'll turn your parents' hair grey!

Rock of Ages is now playing at the New World Stages through to September 13.
