From Trey Parker and Matt Stone, four-time Emmy Award-winning creators of South Park comes this outrageously funny and risque Broadway musical about a pair of mismatched Mormon boys sent on a mission to a place that's about as far from Salt Lake City as you can get!

The Book Of Mormon production became a major success after its debut in 2011 on the Broadway stage, it has reached the West End, Australia, toured North America and the United Kingdom and across Europe including Sweden, Germany, Denmark and many more. Let's find out what the original Broadway cast members who played Elder Price, Elder Cunningham, Nabulungi and Edler McKinley have been up to since being a part of this hilarious musical.

Andrew Rannells - Elder Price

After his breakthrough as Elder Price, he was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Leading Actor' in a Musical and won Best Musical Theater Album' at the Grammy's, his last performance in The Book Of Mormon was in June 2012. In 2015 he temporarily covered Jonathan Groff in the role of King George III in the Broadway musical Hamilton. Fast forward to 2019, Rannells began playing one of the leading roles in the tv show Black Monday'. He played the character Blai Pfaff, the series renewed for a second and third season before being cancelled in 2022. His current activities include voice acting in the Netflix show Big Mouth' since 2017 and Amazon's Invincible' since 2021.

Josh Gad - Edler Cunningham
After his successful run in The Book Of Mormon Josh Gad has been nonstop since his last performance in 2012. He was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Leading Actor' in a Musical and won Best Musical Theater Album' at the Grammy's alongside Rannells. Straight after he played the leading role in the independent film She Wants Me', starred in NBC sitcom 1600 Penn and voiced the molehog Louis in Ice Age: Continental Drift'. He then went on to be the voice of Olaf in the hit Disney film Frozen' in 2013, worked with well-known actors/actresses including Kevin Hart, Kaley Cuoco, Adam Sandler and Peter Dinklage. He also went on to play LeFou in the live-action version of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Cunningham has become a household name within the industry, not only for his acting talent but also for being hilarious

Nabulungi - Nikki M. James

She won the 2011 Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical' for her performance as Nabulungi, during her run at The Book Of Mormon she took leave in 2012 to film the screen version of the musical Lucky Stuff'. James then went on to play Eponnie in the Broadway version of Les Miserables' from 2014 to early 2015. She starred in the New York City Center Encore! Staged concert of The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin' in 2017.


Elder McKinley - Rory O'Malley

Receiving a nomination for Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical' and a Tony Award, McKinley then went on to participate in a reading of George Benard Shaw's play Fanny's First Play', appeared as Frank Hoover in Little Miss Sunshine' on the Off-Broadway Second Stage Theatre, this began October 2013 to December 2013. In 2016 he assumed the role of King George III from Jonathan Groff in Broadway's Hamilton, his run ended early 2017, he performed the role on the national tour after.

What is the story?

'The greatest time of a Mormon kid's life is his mission,' sings Elder Kevin Price before finding out where and who with, his journey will begin. But things are not as the handsome and pious Elder Price predicted when he's paired up with the hapless and puppy-like Elder Cunningham and sent off to the wilds of ...UGANDA! Disneyland this isn't, boys.

Their adventure unfolds as Elders Price and Cunningham attempt to preach The Book Of Mormon to a Ugandan rural community that has been blighted by disease and ruled over by an evil warlord. Despite some truly cringe-worthy false starts and misunderstandings, they learn about themselves, the true meaning of friendship, and what their religion ultimately means to them.
