Sadie Sink To Star In Broadway's John Proctor Is The Villain
The Stranger Things Star Returns To Broadway This Spring
Best known for playing Max in the hit Netflix horror series Stranger Things, Sadie Sink will play the lead role in the upcoming Broadway production of John Proctor Is The Villain'. The play is written by Kimberly Belflower and directed by Tony award winner Danya Taymour (The Outsiders). The play will preview on March 20 and will open officially on April 14 at the Booth Theater.
Although known for her TV appearances, Sink is no newcomer when it comes to the Broadway stage. Her previous credits include Annie (2012) and The Audience (2015) starring Helen Mirren.
The release reads "With deep wells of passion and biting humor, John Proctor is the Villain is a new comedy from a major new American voice, capturing a generation in mid-transformation, running on pop music, optimism, and fury, and discovering that their future is not bound by the past".
What Is The Plot?
A group of Georgian high school students set to study The Crucible. The further they go, the more they dissect the similarities between their lives and the text. Scandals and teenage heartbreak occur, all while seeking to find their place in the world.
