The recently announced Broadway premiere of The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical has found its cast... And they didn't have to look very far as the entirety of the national tour company will be joining the production on the Great White Way!

Leading the cast will be Chris McCarrell as Percy Jackson with Kirstin Stokes as Annabeth, Sarah Beth Pfeifer as Clarice, James Hayden Rodriguez as Luke, Jorrel Javier as Grover and Mr. D, Ryan Knowles as Chiron and Jalynn Steel as Sally. The company is rounded out with Izzy Figueroa, Sam Leicht, and T. Shyvonne Stewart. 

Based on the novel by Rick Riordan the musical adaptation features a book by Joe Tracz, music by Rob Rokicki and direction by Stephen Brackett. Garnering three Drama Desk nominations when it debuted off-Broadway in 2017, before heading out on an acclaimed national tour last year. 

What is The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical about?

Far from being purely mythological, it turns out that the Ancient Greek gods are very much real, and they are causing havoc in the life of a 12-year old boy! The son of sea-god Poseidon, Percy experiences a day at school where nothing is as it seems; his best friend is in fact a satyr sent to protect him, and his wheelchair-bound teacher is none other than the legendary centaur mentor Chiron. Armed with newly discovered powers that he must control, he heads to a school camp like none other where he discovers that he is far from being the only offspring of a god.

When his human mother is kidnapped, and the lightning bolt of Zeus is stolen, he sets out on an epic road trip and quest with his new friends to recover it before the gods declare in all-out war. Throw into the mix some deadly monsters, and you have a battle on your hands! From the underworld to Olympus, from Vegas to the forests, this is one action-packed musical adventure that takes you.

The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical will begin previews at the Longacre Theater on September 20.
